Behavior Support Assistant/Classroom Support-Early Intervention
About The Position
Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania is seeking full-time Personal Care Assistants (PCA) to support the behavior and educational services provided to students in our Approved Private School program. Our school programs service young children with severe and complex disabilities including autism, physical disabilities, and communication limitations. The PCA will fill a critical role in the expansion of Positive Behavior Supports within Easterseals. The primary role involves implementing strategies as outlined in Positive Behavior Support Plans which could include but are not limited to providing direct instruction based on the principals of Positive Behavior Supports. The PCAs will work under the supervision of a Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS). This individual will need to demonstrate flexibility in that they may be serving one student at a time or be supporting a classroom teacher in an assistant role.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in a related field required
- Reliable transportation is required for possible travel to additional school sites
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children with special needs and/or challenging behavior preferred
- CPR/First aid certification preferred
