About The Position

The Hope Centers is a premier provider of educational and therapeutic services for children with special needs. This position focuses on conducting comprehensive behavioral assessments, developing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programming, developing Positive Behavior Support Plan (PBSPs), and implementing evidence-based interventions to improve student outcomes. The Behavior Specialist will collaborate closely with administration, teachers, support staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency and generalization of behavioral strategies across environments. Additionally, the role involves training classroom staff to maintain fidelity to behavior protocols, programming, and PBSPs. Ultimately, the Behavior Specialist contributes to advancing the mission of our educational services by promoting positive behavioral change and enhancing the quality of life for our students and their families.

Requirements

  • Behavior Specialist License (required)
  • Meets key RBT Competencies
  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience with ABA, VB-MAPP, behavior modification, behavior intervention, and skills assessments
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental delays
  • Act 33 PA Child Abuse History Clearance
  • Act 34 PA State Criminal History Clearance
  • Act 114 FBI Clearance issued by the Dept of Education
  • Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training Certificate
  • Act 168 from Previous Employers where you came into contact with children
  • CPR/First Aid
  • TB/Physical

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments (e.g., VB-MAPP) and develop applied behavior analysis (ABA) programming.
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and analyze data to identify behavioral patterns and needs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor positive behavior support plans (PBSPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
  • Provide feedback, modeling, and training to classroom staff to ensure effective behavior support delivery.
  • Conduct behavior programming and positive behavior support plan (PBSP) fidelity checks.
  • Collect, graph, and analyze behavioral data to support programming adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress, individualized education programs (IEPs), and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and adjust programming and promote generalization of skills, as necessary.
  • Stay current with best practices and emerging research in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and related fields.
