The Behavior Specialist supports the delivery of high-quality Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions within Rogers Behavioral Health treatment programs. The role assesses the function of behavior, develops and implements individualized plans to address maladaptive behaviors, provides training and education to patients and support persons, collaborates with an interdisciplinary team, and monitors and adjusts behavior interventions to support patient outcomes. Behavior Specialists work with an assigned clinical leader to design and implement CBT-specific treatment plans for presenting symptoms. The position provides therapeutic services, including groups, under the supervision of a Clinical leader and in accordance with clinical standards of care. It includes participating in supervision and treatment-team meetings, documenting services and patient-care information, training direct-care team members and support persons, and helping ensure patient and facility safety. The specialist may also support changes in staffing or scheduling assignments as program and patient-care needs require, and perform other duties as assigned. A bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, social work, or a related field is required. A valid Substance Abuse Counselor-in-Training credential, or state equivalent, is required when working in an Addiction Recovery program that requires it. Relevant CBT experience is preferred. Additional role-specific credentials, training, and recertification requirements apply, particularly for residential programs.
