About The Position
The Newton Community School District has an opening for a Full Time Behavior Interventionist. This position will be responsible to support the high school behavior program, individual student behavior plans and provide intervention as needed.
Requirements
- Two-year degree in social work, psychology, or related field.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
- Must have the ability to work calmly and effectively in challenging situations.
- Must be able to pass both the DCI background check.
- Must meet the pre-employment physical requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Training in behavior management.
- Training in crisis management.
- Experience working with behavior students in a structured situation is highly desired.
Responsibilities
- Support the high school behavior program.
- Support individual student behavior plans.
- Provide intervention as needed.
