About The Position

To assist professional staff members by performing a variety of tasks related to the operation of classrooms or other instructional areas.

Requirements

  • Level One fingerprint clearance card.
  • Two years of study at an institution of higher education, as evidenced by four semesters of college, with 12 or more credits per semester; or an associate’s (or higher) degree; or high school diploma or equivalent including successfully passing an academic assessment in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics.

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computer programs is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high expectations for all students.
  • Conduct individual and group intervention that aligns with student needs.
  • Observe and assist individual students experiencing difficulties and distribute and collect forms.
  • Maintain positive and effective classroom management procedures in compliance with school and district guidelines.
  • Attend training to support the implementation of appropriate and effective behavior management techniques and strategies.
  • Monitor groups of students engaged in study activities and adjust support based on data and individual student needs.
  • Maintain appropriate and up-to-date student records pertaining to attendance, behavior, and other required documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pupil information in accordance with District Policies.
  • Support character development program and a positive self-esteem in alignment with social-emotional initiative.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
