About The Position

QSAC is looking for dedicated and proactive Behavior Intervention Specialists (BIS) to support our In-Home Direct Support Professionals who primarily provide 1 to 1 services in the individual’s home and community. The BIS will work with the individual, family and direct care staff to develop and monitor Person Centered Service Plans to assist the individual in achieving their personal goals. The salary range for this position is $54,000-$60,000 annually. The Family Services BIS would travel to the individual’s home and other locations in the community. Flexible schedule which requires some evening and weekend hours. This position includes both office based and field based hours.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree and minimum 1 year experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities/autism required, ABA experience preferred
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple priorities
  • General knowledge of theories and principles of behavioral analysis, assessments and goal development required
  • Experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities/autism required
  • Detail-oriented, multi-task capable and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience writing goals and activities utilizing evidence based interventions to help individual achieve personal outcomes including Staff Action Plans for people with autism
  • Ability to travel to client's homes
  • Strong written and communication skills are essential
  • Ability to run when needed

  • Bilingual Spanish or other language very helpful, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Visit individual’s homes on a regular basis to develop, maintain and evaluate goals to ensure goals are appropriate and outcomes are being achieved
  • Complete Functional Assessments and other evaluations to assess skill level and behavioral support needs of each individual
  • Develop individual goals and activities to support outcomes identified in the Life Plan utilizing evidence-based strategies in accordance with OPWDD regulations
  • Provide support, supervision and feedback to ensure that direct care staff are able to meet the level of needs for the individuals they serve
  • Designs and monitors effective data collection systems that will allow monitoring of progress
  • In service and observe goal implementation by Direct Support Professionals
  • Monitor/Assess monthly goal progress and update short-term objectives
  • Maintain clinical paperwork and other required documentation in compliance with Federal and State regulations
  • Provide ongoing training support, supervision and evaluation of in home direct care staff
  • Communicate with families, individuals receiving services and other service providers on a regular basis to ensure quality services
  • Problem solve with families to resolve concerns over services.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure proactive responses to concerns and maintain a positive relationship with the families and individuals served
