About The Position

Join Dungarvin's mission-driven team as a Behavior Clinician, supporting our Portage and South Bend programs. Dungarvin is dedicated to providing person-centered supports that enable individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, or other complex medical needs, to live as independently as possible. This role involves working directly with people in need of assistance and making a real difference in their lives.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Clinical psychology, counseling psychology; school psychology; other applied health service area of psychology, Special education, Social work, or Counseling.
  • Alternatively, must be a licensed marriage and family therapist under IC 25-23.6, a licensed clinical social worker under IC 25-23.6, or a licensed mental health counselor under IC 25-23.6.
  • At least 1 year full time, direct experience working with participants with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Successful background clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Assess behavioral strengths/needs of individuals served and write behavior support plans.
  • Train staff on the implementation of behavior support plans.
  • Assess the implementation of behavior support plans.
  • Monitor ongoing individual behavioral issues.
  • Coordinate behavioral training and needs assessments.
  • Obtain and review complete written records and history of the individual referred for BSP development.
  • Provide recommendations regarding the type of environment, level of support, risk management strategies, and other specialized supports that would be required to provide support to the individual.
  • Complete an on-site review of the individual through observation and interview of the individual.
  • Interview staff that provide direct support to the individual.
  • Interview others who have a working knowledge of the individual, including, but not limited to, social workers, case managers, family members, residential and/or day program staff, etc.
