About The Position

Shalimare is dedicated to providing high-quality support and care for adults with autism or developmental disabilities. We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Weekend Behavior Assistants to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with adults with autism or developmental disabilities, providing assistance, support, and guidance to help them engage in daily activities and achieve their individual goals. As a Behavior Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for the individuals we serve.

Requirements

Previous experience working with or caring for individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to remain calm, patient, and compassionate in challenging situations
Willingness to work weekends
Able to lift 50lbs
High school diploma or equivalent
Demonstrate proficiency in providing care and support to individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges.

Responsibilities

Implement behavior support plans and strategies developed by the behavior analyst or supervisor.
Provide direct support and assistance to individuals with autism or developmental disabilities during weekend activities.
Assist with activities of daily living, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and household tasks.
Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes independence and self-advocacy.
Document and report individual progress, behaviors, and incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and family members to ensure continuity of care and support.
