We're seeking a dedicated Behavior Assistant to join our team and provide individualized support that helps children build positive behaviors, develop essential skills, and thrive in a nurturing learning environment.

Requirements

• A minimum of a high school diploma.
• RBT Certification (Registered Behavior Technician) or ability to earn certification within four weeks of hire.
• Experience working with young children (0-5) in educational or mental health settings.
• Strengths-based, non-punitive approach to behavior.
• Knowledge of social-emotional development and trauma-informed care.
• Bilingual English Spanish preferred.
• Pass a criminal history, background, and sex offender registry check.
• A driver’s license, auto insurance, reliable transportation, and a safe driving record.
• Complete an employment physical exam.
• Be available to travel to centers throughout the service area and agency.
• Be available to occasionally work evenings and weekends as required.
• Use of Microsoft Office software suite (e.g., Office 365, Teams, Sharepoint).
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage time and resources efficiently.
• Ability to collect and interpret behavioral data
• Strong intrapersonal skills, including self-awareness, emotional regulation, professional presence, and enthusiasm.
• Ability to manage crises and support de-escalation
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build positive, strengths-based relationships that are culturally responsive and trauma-informed.
• Strong interpersonal, coaching, and team-building skills.
• Ability to support children, families, and staff from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Behavior Specialist to implement program-wide and child-specific strategies and procedures.
• Use reflective practices to support teachers in the consistent and accurate implementation of program-wide and child-specific strategies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation of mental health services for children.
• Provide training on program-wide and child-specific strategies and procedures.
• Complete a minimum of 15 clock hours of professional development per year.
• Other duties as designed.
