About The Position
This opportunity is designed for individuals actively pursuing their coursework to become a BCBA and accruing practicum hours. The role is intended to prepare an individual to be a successful BCBA upon completing their hours and passing their exam. This role is part of the new Apex Program, designed for individuals within 6-9 months of testing to become a BCBA, elevating the development and support for team members pursuing a career as a BCBA. It includes enhanced programming for practicum students and builds community with peers across centers. The position is full-time, hourly, and reports to the Local Clinical Trainer (BCBA).
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in or recently completed a Master’s program for ABA.
- Be within ~400-600 hours (or less) of completing all practicum hours to be eligible to sit for the BCBA Exam.
- Demonstrate excellent skills in building rapport and trust with families as a behavior therapist.
- Demonstrate emerging skills in case conceptualization and client programming and planning.
- Demonstrate emerging skills in coaching and supervising RBTs to implement ESDM therapy.
- Desire to learn and grow and accept feedback.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a case supervisor for 3-5 client cases (20 paid unrestricted hours/week), set based on center needs and program progress.
- Update client goals and programming, utilizing our electronic data collection platform.
- Provide direct supervision to a team of RBTs.
- Participate in ESDM specific trainings, growing your clinical skillset.
- Write Behavior Intervention Plans, utilizing the Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Skill Based Treatment (SBT).
- Meet with families to conduct Family Treatment Guidance meetings and support, utilizing Soar’s in-house curriculum.
- Conduct and write assessment reports for new clients and re-assessments for established clients, including training on the Vineland, QABF, FAST, and the ESDM Curriculum Checklist.
- Receive coaching and feedback from Partner Clinician and other BCBAs in your clinic.
- Be a part of the Soar integrated care team, participating in interdisciplinary meetings for collaboration with Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Psychologists.
- Conduct direct client therapy (10-20 hours/week), set based on center needs and program progress.
