About The Position
This opportunity is designed for individuals actively pursuing their coursework to become a BCBA and are accruing practicum hours. The role is intended to prepare an individual to be a successful BCBA upon completing their hours and passing their exam. This role is part of the new Apex Program, which is designed for individuals within 6-9 months of testing to become a BCBA. This program enhances the development and support for team members pursuing a career as a BCBA, including enhanced programming for practicum students and building community with peers across centers. The role reports to the Local Clinical Trainer (BCBA) at the team member’s specific clinic. This is a full-time, hourly position. The caseload and paid unrestricted hours may increase as the individual gets closer to testing, depending on center growth and availability. A guaranteed BCBA role at Soar is offered upon passing the BCBA exam and meeting program expectations, with location dependent on local staffing needs.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in or recently completed a Master’s program for ABA
- Be within ~400-600 hours (or less) of completing all practicum hours to be eligible to sit for the BCBA Exam
- Demonstrate excellent skills in building rapport and trust with families as a behavior therapist
- Demonstrate emerging skills in case conceptualization and client programming and planning
- Demonstrate emerging skills in coaching and supervising RBTs to implement ESDM therapy
- Desire to learn and grow and accept feedback
Responsibilities
- Serve as a case supervisor for 3-5 client cases (20 paid unrestricted hours/week), set based on center needs and program progress
- Update client goals and programming, utilizing our electronic data collection platform
- Provide direct supervision to a team of RBTs
- Participate in ESDM specific trainings, growing your clinical skillset
- Write Behavior Intervention Plans, utilizing the Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Skill Based Treatment (SBT)
- Meet with families to conduct Family Treatment Guidance meetings and support, utilizing Soar’s in-house curriculum
- Conduct and write assessment reports for new clients and re-assessments for established clients, including training on the Vineland, QABF, FAST, and the ESDM Curriculum Checklist
- Receive coaching and feedback from Partner Clinician and other BCBAs in your clinic
- Be a part of the Soar integrated care team, participating in interdisciplinary meetings for collaboration with Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Psychologists
- Conduct direct client therapy (10-20 hours/week), set based on center needs and program progress
