Behavior Analyst in Training - North Scottsdale
About The Position
This opportunity is designed for individuals actively pursuing their BCBA certification and accruing practicum hours. It offers paid unrestricted hours and prepares individuals for success as a BCBA upon completion of their hours and passing the exam. This role is part of the new Apex Program, designed for those within 6-9 months of testing for their BCBA, offering enhanced programming, peer community building, and support. The role involves serving as a case supervisor for 3-5 client cases, updating client goals, providing direct supervision to RBTs, and conducting client therapy. It also includes training in specific methodologies like ESDM, PFA, and SBT, family guidance, assessment report writing, and participation in interdisciplinary meetings. The position is full-time and hourly, with potential for increased caseload and paid unrestricted hours as the individual nears their BCBA exam.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in or recently completed a Master’s program for ABA
- Be within ~400-600 hours (or less) of completing all practicum hours to be eligible to sit for the BCBA Exam
- Demonstrate excellent skills in building rapport and trust with families as a behavior therapist
- Demonstrate emerging skills in case conceptualization and client programming and planning
- Demonstrate emerging skills in coaching and supervising RBTs to implement ESDM therapy
- Desire to learn and grow and accept feedback
Responsibilities
- Serve as a case supervisor for 3-5 client cases (20 paid unrestricted hours/week), set based on center needs and program progress
- Update client goals and programming, utilizing our electronic data collection platform
- Provide direct supervision to a team of RBTs
- Participate in ESDM specific trainings, growing your clinical skillset
- Write Behavior Intervention Plans, utilizing the Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Skill Based Treatment (SBT)
- Meet with families to conduct Family Treatment Guidance meetings and support, utilizing Soar’s in-house curriculum
- Conduct and write assessment reports for new clients and re-assessments for established clients, including training on the Vineland, QABF, FAST, and the ESDM Curriculum Checklist
- Receive coaching and feedback from Partner Clinician and other BCBAs in your clinic
- Be a part of the Soar integrated care team, participating in interdisciplinary meetings for collaboration with Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Psychologists
- Conduct direct client therapy (10-20 hours/week), set based on center needs and program progress
