The Kau-Keaau-Pahoa Complex is seeking a 12-Month Grade K-12 Behavior Analysis Teacher. This role involves actively participating in program planning, development, and implementation of activities, as well as developing and maintaining resource materials. The teacher will determine compliance with behavior analysis standards, conduct research on best practices, laws, rules, regulations, and community concerns, and evaluate their impact on program goals. This position identifies problems and addresses or anticipates specific needs. The Behavior Analysis Teacher consults with teachers and other school personnel regarding students' behavior, recommended interventions, and alternatives. A key responsibility is performing ABA services as indicated in students' IEPs, including conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). The role involves observing students in educational settings, conducting functional behavior and other educationally relevant assessments, and collaborating with other professionals and related service providers. The teacher will design behavioral data collection systems, monitor collections, analyze data, and engage in evidence-based instructional decision-making. This includes observing, measuring, and documenting intervention progress and utilizing evidence-based training methods with staff and students, such as Skills-Based Treatment (SBT). The position also facilitates an understanding of behavior principles for school personnel, parents, and other stakeholders. Additionally, the Behavior Analysis Teacher provides clinical supervision over qualified ABA paraprofessionals (e.g., RBTs, BTs) through observation, training, developing performance expectations, and delivering feedback. Training to department paraprofessionals is also a component of this role.
