About The Position
Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, provides education services for K–12 students who need additional support to succeed in traditional school settings. The Behavior Aide works one-on-one with an assigned student, providing individualized behavior support and teaching life skills in accordance with the student’s individualized education plan (IEP). The role is part of a multidisciplinary team and supports students’ academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs in diverse educational settings.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Must be at least 19 years old to work as a paraprofessional, per the state requirement.

- Experience working in an educational setting implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive behavioral needs.
Responsibilities
- Work with students from varied developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Work one-on-one with an assigned student to meet IEP goals and provide necessary accommodations and modifications.
- Assist in developing and modifying behavior support plans.
- Implement behavior support plans and record and track behavior, goal progress, and incident data.
- Use behavior support and intervention strategies.
- Use de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint when necessary to maintain student and staff safety.
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages appropriate social and behavioral skills.
- Supervise students and ensure they are monitored, including while moving between school locations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to implement behavior support plans consistently.
- Provide personal care support based on student needs.
- Communicate effectively with parents.
