About The Position

This is a .2 FTE non-continuing position for a 6th Grade Beginning Strings Teacher. It begins upon hire through the end of the current 2026-27 school year ONLY. The Edmonds School District is seeking an experienced and inspiring string specialist to teach two (2) elementary beginning 6th grade string classes. Beginning instrumental string classes are 45 minutes long and meet twice each week. District curriculum utilizes the Essential Elements string technique methods supplemented with some individual teacher materials. SIOP training and GLAD training offered by the Multilingual Education Department will be required for all new employees unless they can show evidence of having completed SIOP and GLAD training previously. Training will need to be completed within the first two years of employment.

Requirements

Washington State Teaching Certificate with a Music endorsement, or the ability to obtain one prior to the position start date.

Nice To Haves

Preference will be given to candidates that currently have an ELL, ESOL, or Bilingual endorsement.
Evidence of having completed SIOP and GLAD training previously.
