About The Position
The Before and After School Teacher is a vital part of our school community, carrying out many of the duties necessary for the day-to-day operations of the campus. This position will supervise middle and high school students in indoor and outdoor settings. Crucially, this role will be responsible for maintaining a safe learning environment for our energetic and motivated students.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED
- Prior experience working with children preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and ability to connect with a variety of colleagues and students
- Frequently walk, stand, sit, squat, stoop, reach, kneel, rise from the floor, twist, listen, read, write, and speak the English language
- Often carry, lift, use repetitive or fine hand movements, and occasionally push, pull, or bend
- Regularly hear and use clear vision with or without correction
Responsibilities
- Monitoring student behavior during morning hours before class and meal service
- Ensure student safety and well-being by maintaining active supervision by sight and sound at all times
- Collaborate with other faculty and staff members and use positive discipline practices
- Be responsible for the safe supervision and care of students
- Light sweeping, wiping down tables, and trash removal
