Before and After School Site Coordinator
About The Position
The Before and After School Site Coordinator is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for school age children before and after school and on break weeks or days off from school. The Coordinator will work directly with the SACC Director in developing, planning, and implementing daily activities. They will be responsible for ensuring licensing paperwork is completed, recorded, and kept on file. They will take on the role of the SACC Director if the SACC Director is away from the program. They will actively engage in supervision of play, ensures children's safety, and promotes positive social interactions in accordance with facility guidelines.
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Childhood Education, Physical Education, Recreation, Special Education, Occupational Therapy preferred.
- Experience working with children in child care setting, summer camps or in the classroom preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Friendly, patient, and attentive with strong communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple children with varying needs and energy levels.
- Reliable, punctual, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Actively monitor and care for school age children.
- Maintain a clean, secure, and child-friendly environment.
- Ensuring along with the SACC Director that all licensing program standards are met by staff to include but are not limited to, training, ratios, schedules of staff, sign in and sign out.
- Follow all safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Organize and lead age-appropriate activities such as games, sports, group activities, arts and crafts, special events and free play.
- Promote a positive and respectful atmosphere among children.
- Provide comfort and basic care for children as needed.
- Greet parents/guardians, manage check-in and check-out procedures.
- Communicate any concerns, behavioral issues, or incidents promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with supervisors and other staff to support child care program standards.
- Sanitize toys, equipment, and play areas regularly in compliance with health standards.
- Monitor supply inventory and inform supervisor of needs.
- Follow all facility policies, licensing regulations, and COVID-19 safety protocols if applicable.
