Under the direction of the Before and After School Care Site Supervisor and in accordance with Association policies, the Before and After School Care (Y BASE) Instructor is responsible for coordinating daily activities. The Y BASE Instructor provides a safe and nurturing environment for school-aged children to learn and play. This role involves following and implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans, actively participating in daily activities to engage students, and monitoring safety. The instructor serves as a role model, develops positive relationships with staff, families, and children, and provides motivational support and guidance through caring interactions and prompt service. Responsibilities also include maintaining participant records, ensuring the safety and cleanliness of learning spaces, and following emergency procedures. The instructor is expected to uphold the YMCA's core values and comply with all relevant regulations from the Department of Children and Families or other regulatory agencies, as well as attend all required staff meetings and trainings.
