About The Position
Spartan Kids, Orono Public Schools' before and after school program, is hiring staff to make mornings and afternoons fun for kids in Kindergarten–5th grade. This role is ideal for individuals who love working with children and require a flexible schedule that accommodates school, retirement, or other employment. The program operates Monday–Friday with morning and afternoon shifts available, and extra hours are offered on non-school days.
Requirements
- A fun, nurturing personality and a genuine love for working with kids
- Punctuality, reliability, and flexibility — program days move fast
Nice To Haves
- Experience with kids ages 5–12 is appreciated
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Child care or education experience
Responsibilities
- Lead fun, choice-based activities — games, art, and play that help kids grow socially and emotionally
- Supervise and build positive relationships with K–5 students, keeping the environment safe, respectful, and inclusive
- Be a warm, welcoming face for kids and families every day
