About The Position

AlphaBEST Education is seeking a part-time Group Leader for their extended-day, summer, and enrichment programs in Portland, OR. This role is designed for individuals with experience working with students, offering the opportunity to shape meaningful after-school moments that help children learn, grow, and thrive. The ideal candidate is an early learning professional who enjoys working with children in a structured, high-energy environment, takes child safety seriously, and is flexible, reliable, and ready to assist where needed.

Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or GED
18+ years old
Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing needs
Must be able to successfully complete a background check as required by OR childcare licensing regulations
Proof of experience as required by OR childcare licensing regulations

Nice To Haves

240+ documented hours of experience working with children is preferred
Experience in Teaching or classroom leadership
Experience in Youth programs
Experience in Staff supervision or team leadership
Experience in Elementary Education
College students

Responsibilities

Lead a group of students through daily curriculum activities (World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts)
Make child safety the top priority at all times
Keep the space clean and organized
Help create an environment where kids feel supported and included
Build strong relationships with teammates, kids, families, and school staff
