Before & After School Care (Youth Development Team)
About The Position
Join our Youth Development team and work directly with children in a safe, supportive, and high-energy environment. You’ll help create meaningful experiences before and after school that promote physical, emotional, and intellectual growth - while gaining valuable skills for your future. Opportunities are available with Oconomowoc or Watertown Youth Development teams. This role stands out as it allows you to build your resume and gain hands-on experience in education, recreation, or youth services, with opportunities for career growth and advancement. It is ideal for aspiring teachers, counselors, or youth development professionals, and requires no weekends or holidays.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years or older
- Willingness to attend trainings and obtain certifications as needed
- Positive attitude, reliability, and passion for working with youth
Nice To Haves
- Experience with children or in education/recreation settings (preferred, not required for entry-level)
- Knowledge of licensing or accreditation standards (preferred for higher-level roles)
Responsibilities
- Support and/or lead engaging before & after school programming
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all youth
- Plan and implement activities that promote learning, creativity, and physical activity
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members
- Follow licensing standards and YMCA program guidelines
- Participate in training, staff meetings, and professional development
