About The Position

The Before & After Care Worker helps maintain an orderly, safe, and pleasant atmosphere in the cafeteria, on the playground, and in other designated locations. The role assists with and supervises students participating in authorized before- or after-school programs, following CSUSA policies and established school procedures. The worker is expected to present a professional manner and provide excellent customer service while interacting with students, parents, and coworkers. The position reports to the Director of the Before and After Care Program and the school principal.

Requirements

• High school diploma or higher education credential.
• Must like children.
• Commitment to company values.
• Ability to resolve conflicts with children and parents.
• Ability to be firm but friendly, courteous, and professional when dealing with parents, children, and coworkers.
• Previous experience as a daycare assistant or summer camp counselor is preferred.
• Other alternatives to the stated requirements may be accepted as CSUSA finds appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Follow proper student sign-in and dismissal procedures for Before Care.
• Follow proper student check-in and dismissal procedures for After Care.
• Monitor students and observe who enters and leaves the childcare area.
• Pass out snacks.
• Play with students on the playground.
• Tutor and assist students with homework.
• Resolve conflicts with children and parents.
• Help maintain a safe, orderly, and pleasant atmosphere in designated program areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
