About The Position
The Before/After Care Counselor will supervise and instruct assigned classes in the locations and times designated by the Aftercare Director. This role involves creating a conducive and creative learning environment appropriate for the students' maturity level, preparing and executing activities, and ensuring student safety and adherence to school policies.
Requirements
- A minimum of one to five years related experience
- High School diploma or equivalency
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Organized, energetic, innovative and professional.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Supervises and instructs assigned classes.
- Takes attendance.
- Follows the provided schedule and curriculum program of study.
- Creates an environment that is conducive to learning in a creative way.
- Prepares activities for the classes assigned.
- Assists in the distribution of snacks and clean up.
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
- Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures and maintains order.
- Maintains a professional attitude at all times.
- Participates in dismissal procedures, ensuring students leave with the appropriate adult and verifying ID against the pick-up list.
- Attends all staff meetings and recommended training programs.
- Supervises all activities to ensure safety at all times.
