About The Position

The Beer Sales Associate provides extraordinary shopping experiences to guests and stocks merchandise. This role requires individuals to actively demonstrate the Company Mission Statement and Core Values, maintain uniform standards, and possess superior product knowledge. The associate will greet guests with a smile, engage in conversation, and recommend merchandise, with a focus on in-house brands. They will answer questions about price and use of merchandise, create client relationships, and assist with carrying products. Responsibilities may include operating a cash register, receiving merchandise, preparing promotional events, and setting up displays. Maintaining the sales floor, stocking shelves, fronting merchandise, and rotating stock for freshness are key duties. The associate will also maintain neat and orderly sales floor and back stock areas, clean shelves and aisles, and ensure price tags are fresh and readable. Providing feedback to management on product movement and stock levels, preparing for and assisting with inventory, and properly using computers and RF scanner equipment are also expected. Continuous improvement of skills and knowledge to contribute to profitability and productivity is encouraged. Coworker conversations should be avoided when guests are present, and personal cell phone use should be limited to work-related activities on the sales floor. Directives from management must be carried out efficiently and with care and attention to detail. Teamwork, cooperation, time management, and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential. The role requires the ability to manage stress in a fast-paced environment and work in accordance with safety regulations. Physical demands include standing, lifting, carrying, walking, bending, and reaching with products routinely weighing 50 pounds or more, and occasionally up to 100 pounds or more. Pushing and pulling are also required. Communication with team members and guests, and clear vision are necessary. Other projects and tasks assigned by management, including cleaning, are part of the role. Attendance and timeliness are required. This is not a remote sales job.

Requirements

  • State law says you must be over the age of 21 to work at Spec's.

  • In some cases, maintain a valid Food Handlers Permit.
  • Regularly requires standing, walking, and bending; use of arms, hands, and fingers to feel, handle, reach, and lift; climbing or balance; communicating and understanding.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds or more occasionally using proper lifting techniques and tools.
  • Push and/or pull 50 to 100 pounds or more regularly.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Physical attendance based on a schedule made by management which may vary week to week based on the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Clean shelves, bottles, aisles, and tables; look for product not stocked properly to avoid trips and falls.
  • Maintain fresh and readable price tags on all products.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding fast or slow-moving product, stock levels, out of stocks, and department needs.
  • Prepare sales floor and storage areas for inventory and assist in the inventory process if needed.
  • Properly use and maintain computers and RF scanner equipment.
  • Seek to continually improve related skills and knowledge to contribute to profitability and productivity.
  • Avoid conversations with coworkers when guests are present.
  • Limit use of personal cell phone to work related activities only while on the sales floor.
  • Carry out directives of management efficiently.
  • Fulfill responsibilities with care and attention to detail.
