About The Position

This is a field-based role requiring consistent presence in customer accounts throughout the day during designated standard business hours to ensure customer satisfaction. The Beer Route Sales Representative is responsible for the promotion, sales, and merchandising of products for their assigned route. This involves conferring with customers to understand their needs, identifying the best products, processing orders, and scheduling deliveries. The role requires visiting each account as scheduled, developing rapport with decision-makers, and actively recommending displays, POS materials, and organizing cooler or shelf sets to promote CBC products and services. Additionally, the representative must rotate product to ensure no out-of-date beer and accurate pricing, review inventory levels, determine quantities needed based on sales history, and transmit orders timely for prompt delivery. They will also follow up on out-of-stock items, order shortages, or missed deliveries, and comply with ABC regulations and supplier requirements. The role involves following processes for close-dated product, following up on leads for new brands or SKUs, communicating new products and promotions, requesting and placing appropriate POS material, and proactively communicating with management regarding competitor activities and business outlook. The representative will also work with customers to resolve concerns, escalate sensitive matters, complete customer surveys, and work in a safe manner using proper PPE and safe lifting/defensive driving techniques. Attendance at sales meetings and reviewing cubby information to stay updated on new products and programs is also required. The representative is responsible for the care of company-assigned assets including an iPad, vehicle, and other equipment, and for regular and punctual attendance to ensure timely product delivery to customers. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Possess education equivalent to a high school diploma plus one year of service experience.
  • Possess basic mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, use whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Possess the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Possess the ability to deal with problems involving limited concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, bar graphs, and procedure manuals.
  • Possess basic communication skills using common courtesy.
  • Possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written, or diagram form.
  • Possess the ability to perform physical work (up to 90% of the time).
  • Possess the ability to maintain regular and punctual in-person attendance to regularly support sales operations and service customer accounts.
  • Possess ability to obtain and maintain an active beer and wine sales license.
  • Possess ability to drive, valid driver’s license, and a driving record compliant with company standards.
  • Consent to pre-employment inquiries and tests including criminal background, MVR check, physical assessment (job simulation) and drug tests.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the promotion, sales and merchandising of products for the assigned route.

  • Work with customers to resolve any concerns.
  • Escalate sensitive matters to management.
  • Complete customer surveys as required.
  • Work in a safe manner using proper PPE and applying safe lifting and defensive driving techniques.
  • Comply with all safety rules and policies.
  • Attend sales meetings.
  • Actively review cubby information to stay updated on new products and programs.
  • Responsible for care of company-assigned assets including ipad, vehicle, and other equipment.
  • Responsible for regular and punctual attendance to ensure product is delivered timely to CBC customers.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
