About The Position

Heart of America Beverage is hiring a local delivery driver in Joplin, Missouri. The driver operates an assigned company vehicle over established routes to deliver products, provide merchandising services, and collect customer payments while following company policies and procedures. Routes typically include a driver helper. The position works four days per week and the driver is home every night. Total starting compensation is $50,000, including salary, commission, and bonuses. The role requires safe operation of delivery vehicles and compliance with applicable Department of Transportation (DOT), federal, state, and local requirements. Drivers perform vehicle inspections and maintain required time logs, deliver and verify orders, provide customer service, replenish shelves and build displays, rotate stock, and maintain vehicle cleanliness. The work is in a fast-paced distribution environment and may involve long hours beyond standard requirements when needed.

Requirements

Hold a current Class A Commercial Driver's License before hire.
Be at least 21 years of age to work with alcohol.
Pass a DOT physical and DOT drug test.
Pass a motor vehicle records check and a previous-employment DOT records check.
Be eligible based on a CSA background check.
Be detail-oriented, quality-focused, able to take direction, self-motivated, and able to work in a team-oriented environment.
Be able to work in a fast-paced distribution environment and work long hours beyond standard requirements as needed.
Be able to stand and sit for extended periods; reach; stoop, kneel, bend, balance, crawl, or crouch; lift overhead; climb into and out of a truck cab and trailer; and talk and hear.
Regularly lift up to 40 pounds and frequently lift a keg weighing up to 185 pounds.
Regularly push or pull 250 pounds with assistance from a two-wheel dolly, product cart, or other mobile equipment.
Tolerate moving between hot and cold temperatures.
Have close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

Zero to three years of previous commercial driving experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Drive an assigned company vehicle over established routes to deliver products and provide merchandising services.
Perform and document required pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections.
Maintain required DOT time logs.
Operate delivery vehicles safely and legally, complying with federal, state, and local regulations and company policies.
Use a two-wheeled dolly, cart, or pallet jack to move products into customer accounts.
Verify order accuracy, collect payment, and obtain a signed invoice from the customer.
Provide courteous customer service and resolve service complaints.
Replenish shelves and build displays.
Collect current and past-due payments as required.
Coordinate with sales representatives to ensure optimal customer service.
Rotate back stock and pick up out-of-date products or move close-dated products as directed.
Maintain the interior and exterior cleanliness and appearance of the assigned vehicle.
Perform other duties as assigned.
