About The Position

As a Beef Nutrition & Business Consultant, you will partner directly with beef producers across Saskatchewan and Alberta to help them achieve their operational and financial goals. This is a highly consultative, relationship-driven role where you will provide nutritional expertise, develop customized feeding programs, and support producers with practical, on-farm solutions. You will also play a key role in growing the business, strengthening market presence, and advancing your own expertise in ruminant nutrition.

Requirements

  • Passion for agriculture and the beef industry
  • 2+ years of sales experience in agriculture or a related field
  • Strong understanding of beef production systems (cow/calf, backgrounding, finishing)
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region

  • Diploma or degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or Business

Responsibilities

  • Build a strong understanding of the regional beef industry, including market trends and competitive landscape
  • Identify growth opportunities and support expansion within the Saskatchewan and Alberta markets
  • Strengthen GVF’s presence through relationship-building and market insight
  • Grow and manage a portfolio of beef producers through a consultative sales approach
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while maintaining existing relationships
  • Collaborate with internal experts to deliver value-added solutions
  • Support and mentor team members as your experience grows
  • Formulate rations and develop feeding programs using NDS software
  • Provide on-farm consultations, including barn tours and performance analysis
  • Deliver practical advice across nutrition, herd health, and farm management
  • Ensure feeding systems are optimized for performance
  • Contribute to new product development through customer insights and industry knowledge
  • Support regulatory compliance and promote adoption of new technologies and products
  • Participate in local events, meetings, and industry initiatives
  • Support marketing efforts, including social media and industry publications
