About The Position

Under supervision from the clinical care team, the Bed Control Coordinator provides care coordination for patients as they move into and through the care continuum. The role ensures accurate and timely processing of insurance verifications and patient registration, timely notification of payors to support maximum reimbursement, facilitation of benefit coverage for continuum-of-care needs, and the flow of information to continuum care providers. The position requires maintaining a high level of confidentiality.

Requirements

• Clinical and patient care experience.
• Excellent spelling and grammar skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with physicians and ancillary departments.
• Detail-oriented, with a high degree of organizational skills.
• Experience working with computers and computer software or applications.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree or higher.
• Previous insurance background.
• Previous experience in an acute care hospital.
