About The Position

The Beauty Operations Temp is responsible for the programming, planning, and execution of merchant strategies & initiatives. This position leads vendor placement (i.e. space / location), negotiates terms in new stores and department remodels and collaborates with business partners on project execution. The Beauty Operations Temp is also responsible for the development, management, forecasting and reconciliation of the related financial budgets. This role oversees the Beauty Store Planning team who manages all Beauty floor plans and vendor matrices for open sell fixtures. The Beauty Operations Temp requires strong communication and collaboration with cross functional stakeholders (i.e. Merchants, Vendors, Store Environment and Regional, Field and Store Management teams).

Requirements

  • Strong Business Acumen: Ability to understand business objectives and how assortment optimization contributes to sales, margin, turn, and growth.
  • Merchandising Knowledge: Understanding of merchandising principles and practices.
  • Collaboration: Capacity to collaborate effectively with Merchants and other team members to align assortment plans with overall business strategies.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing in-season product performance and assessing assortment effectiveness by channel.
  • Financial Understanding: Basic understanding of financial performance metrics related to assortment planning.
  • Proactive Approach: Self-starter mentality, capable of driving forward work independently and identifying opportunities for business growth.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite: Ability to use tools like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for data analysis and communication.

  • 6-8+ years of Corporate/Retail Store Project Management preferred
  • Retail Operations and/or Store Design experience, preferably in a large department store

  • Provide outstanding support and partnership both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and lead (for Business Operations) all new projects, department renovations, maintenance, collateral updates, and other vendor projects.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish criteria for projects including financial terms and budget.
  • Coordinate initial block plan layouts in partnership with Store Environment, Senior Management, Merchants, and Store Teams.
  • Negotiate space/location and terms with vendors to ensure projects meet budget and install dates.
  • Maintain updated floor plans for all stores including open sell fixture plans/layouts, vendor placement (i.e. plan-o-grams), and select visual elements for our open sell areas.
  • Communicate project status to all key stakeholders.
  • Anticipate problems and solve critical issues by partnering with all involved parties.
  • Partner with Finance on Capital Budget, ROF, and PON requirements.
  • Develop, manage and reconcile the Capital and Expense Budgets.
  • Execute ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Train, manage, and develop team.
