About The Position

The Beauty Advisor (BA) provides an exceptional experience for Ulta Beauty guests by identifying their individual needs, completing cashier tasks, keeping merchandise stocked, maintaining store cleanliness, and carrying out assigned tasks. The role supports store leadership by contributing to sales and in-store events, providing guest service, and following operating procedures and compliance standards. It requires enthusiasm for the beauty industry, strong guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge. The BA helps achieve store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni-channel sales, and retail shrink. They engage guests, answer questions, explain promotions, recommend products and services, handle transactions and online orders, and perform makeup applications, skincare analyses, and product demonstrations. They also support appointments and in-store events, stay informed about products and services, and participate in training. The position includes maintaining merchandise presentation and stock, store cleanliness, and compliance with company standards; participating in resets, inventory, displays, and shipment processing; and protecting company assets through loss-prevention practices. The role requires a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and involves continuous mobility and physical activity throughout the shift, including lifting, carrying, or moving up to 25 pounds. The pay range is $16.90–$24.00 per hour. Eligible associates may earn overtime as required by law. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.

Requirements

High school diploma is preferred.
One year of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is preferred.
Passion for guest service and competency in selling.
Proficiency with basic technology, such as point-of-sale systems and Apple devices.
Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Ability to troubleshoot.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Contribute to store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni-channel sales, and retail shrink.
Create a guest-friendly environment by greeting and engaging guests, tailoring service to their needs, answering questions, explaining promotions, and recommending products or services.
Handle customer service, sales, refunds, exchanges, and online order assistance courteously.
Perform makeup applications, skincare analyses, and product demonstrations.
Book appointments and support services and in-store events.
Stay informed about products and services, including their ingredients and benefits.
Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
Support an inclusive environment for teammates, peers, and guests.
Explain the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
Collaborate with managers and associates to help grow the business.
Participate in ongoing brand and category training.
Follow company policies, procedures, standards, and dress code.
Keep the assigned work area replenished, signed, and faced, and ensure testers are available.
Maintain cleanliness and store standards across the salesfloor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, and break area.
Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, displays, inventory procedures, and shipment processing using company technology and best practices.
Protect company assets by following loss-prevention practices and providing exceptional guest service.
Complete other operational tasks as directed.
