About The Position

This role involves ensuring a safe, welcoming, and professional environment within the campus natatorium. Student lifeguards serve as the first point of contact for visitors, enforce facility policies, provide accurate information, and represent the college with a positive and professional demeanor. Candidates should demonstrate strong problem-solving, time management, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Monitor the pool area to ensure the safety of all patrons.
Perform rescues and administer first aid when necessary.
Maintain awareness of and follow the Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
Report any safety concerns or incidents to appropriate personnel.
Conduct routine checks of pool chemicals and equipment.
Ensure facility security, including locking doors when closed.
Assist in maintaining cleanliness and general upkeep of the natatorium.
Communicate effectively with fellow lifeguards, Head Lifeguards, and the Natatorium Coordinator.
Foster a positive and respectful working environment.
Advise leadership on safety-related issues and concerns.
Model appropriate behavior and uphold college policies, state, and federal regulations.
Be assertive and assist in resolving conflicts when necessary.
Report violations of lifeguard protocols to the Natatorium Coordinator.
Remain approachable and available to patrons and staff.
