About The Position

Haverhill Public Schools is seeking a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) to work with preschool students in both inclusion and substantially separate settings. This is a 12-month position for the school year 2026-2027, with a salary range of $80,000 to $100,000, depending on education and experience. The BCBA will report to the Principal and/or the Executive Director of Student Services. The role involves providing direct and consultative Applied Behavior Analytic services, conducting assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with various specialists and families to support student outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experienced in a school setting and able to work in a team environment.
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be flexible, able to pay attention to the overall environment and specific details.
  • Must be able to independently identify, implement, and train others on effective behavior interventions.
  • Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or related field.
  • BCBA Certification.
  • Previous experience conducting behavior assessments and developing behavior intervention plans.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Skill-Based Treatment (SBT) preferred.
  • Experience working with preschool-age children in early childhood special education settings preferred.
  • Familiarity with ACE (Autism Encyclopedia Curriculum) preferred.
  • Bilingual Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the delivery of direct and/or consultation of Applied Behavior Analytic services to preschool students in inclusion and substantially separate settings.
  • Conduct Practical Functional Assessments (PFAs) as needed to identify the function of problem behavior.
  • Develop and implement Skill-Based Treatment (SBT).
  • Support individualized skill acquisition programs targeting communication, social, adaptive, and pre-academic skills using evidence-based ABA strategies.
  • Develop appropriate Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) informed by assessment results; monitor and modify plans based on ongoing data review.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and training to classroom staff on the implementation of SBT, skill acquisition programming, and BIPs.
  • Analyze data collected by classroom staff to evaluate intervention effectiveness and adjust programming as needed.
  • Provide interdisciplinary team consultation, collaborating with speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other specialists to support whole-child outcomes.
  • Participate in IEP team meetings and contribute behavioral and skill-based assessment data to support goal development and placement decisions.
  • Address behavioral difficulties and provide crisis support as needed for identified students.
  • Ensure appropriate communication with families regarding behavioral programming, skill acquisition goals, and student progress.
  • Assist in creating visuals, materials, and structured supports necessary for BIPs and skill acquisition programs.
