About The Position

Manhattan Behavioral Center (MBC) is seeking a positive, dynamic BCBA/LBA Case Manager to join a therapeutic team dedicated to helping every child thrive. MBC offers a collaborative and transdisciplinary ABA® framework, integrating applied behavior analysis with special education, speech therapy, physical and occupational therapy, sensory integration, group and social interaction, and family support for children aged 5 to 21 with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related neurodiversities. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, or related human services field
  • BCBA and NYS LBA (or Limited Permit/application in process)
  • Minimum of 2 years of Case management/supervision required

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing all components of an assigned client’s case, including managing educational/ABA programming, training and supervising ABA therapists, supporting and collaborating with the related service team, communicating with the family and outside providers, and participating in trainings and meetings related to their clients or the clinic.
  • Directly supervising the ABA therapists working on their team and inter-team therapists.
  • Reporting directly to their Program Director.
  • Overseeing 6 MBC comprehensive cases.
  • Assessing skills of all assigned cases on an annual basis or upon enrollment in MBC.
  • Developing annual goals in collaboration with related service providers, parents, and other outside providers as appropriate.
  • Participating in the insurance authorization process if family is seeking reimbursement through insurance.
  • Following MBC guidelines to develop and maintain programming and data collection systems using Central Reach.
  • Overseeing ABA programming and tracking progress towards goals via informal and formal methods.
  • Writing progress reports at a minimum of two times a year.
  • Following MBC protocols for maintaining case documentation.
  • Demonstrating effective time management skills using organizational support as needed.
  • Participating in the development of FBAs and BIPs to address inappropriate behaviors in collaboration with Program Supervisor, Director of Education, and Director of Clinical Development.
  • Participating in DOE-led IEP meetings and hearing proceedings as appropriate.
  • Building and maintaining a professional and positive relationship with parents/caregivers and ensuring frequent communication.
  • Serving as liaison between MBC team and parents/caregivers including coordination of observations, trainings, regular updates, addressing parent concerns/questions.
  • Providing regular observation and training for ABA staff assigned to students on caseload.
  • Attending regular co-treatment sessions with related service providers.
  • Leading transdisciplinary team when creating transdisciplinary plans.
  • Leading team meetings (e.g., case conferences, clinics).
  • Participating in non-MBC team meetings when appropriate.
  • Managing client files, documentation, materials, and therapy space, with delegation to team members as appropriate.
  • Creating supply order requests as appropriate.
  • Supervising team of ABA therapists.
  • Building and maintaining a professional and positive rapport with each staff member.
  • Providing training and feedback to all staff related to direct care with clients, as well as each staff members’ assigned role and expectations.
  • Completing and participating in scheduled reviews of ABA therapists and facilitating professional development opportunities as appropriate.
  • Meeting with lead staff weekly to review Central Reach programming and client’s educational needs.
  • Meeting with Program Director weekly.
  • Preparing and managing agenda, including highlighting priority items, reporting on completed tasks, and following up on outstanding items.
  • Collaborating with Training and Central Reach Coordinator to support needs of team.
  • Serving as role model/leader within organization to ABA therapists and other providers.
  • Reporting concerns to Program Director promptly.
  • Demonstrating professional competence across situations.
  • Submitting through, complete, and timely paperwork to Program Supervisor.
  • Providing direct care for all clients on case load on an as-needed basis.
  • Providing coverage for on-call responsibilities on an as-needed basis.
  • Participating in clinic-wide trainings, including opportunities to provide training to all staff.
  • Providing BCBA/LBA supervision to ABA therapists.
  • Engaging and using Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) holds/transport or disengagement tactics for students during behavioral episodes.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
