About The Position

The Practice Director will be responsible for setting and maintaining the strategy and goals of the practice by creating, owning, and executing on initiatives that drive their practice forward. They will manage the Practice Managers that oversee project managers, consultants, solution architects, developers, and team leads. They will provide direction for practice methodologies, serve as an escalation point for issues, recognize the need for increased skillsets within the team, review Statements of Work (SOW) and negotiate credits, ensure that their practice meets our utilization targets, and maintain and grow financial goals. Additionally, the Practice Director will assist in decision-making regarding the use of applications to optimize performance and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a similar practice or consultancy.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, own, and execute strategic plans and achieve business goals.
  • Financial acumen and experience in budget management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate the strategic direction and goals of the practice in alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Create and execute on strategic initiatives that better the practice.
  • Assist in creating annual OKRs and driving achievement of those OKRs.
  • Continuously monitor and adjust strategies to ensure they remain relevant and effective.
  • Manage Practice Managers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure optimal performance and development.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to practice as a whole.
  • Monitor and optimize team utilization to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Provide direction and leadership in the adoption and implementation of best practices and methodologies within the practice.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging methodologies to ensure the practice remains competitive and innovative.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex issues or challenges, providing timely resolution and guidance to the team.
  • Identify gaps in skills within the team and develop strategies for upskilling and training to meet evolving business needs.
  • Review Statements of Work (SOW) to ensure alignment with practice goals and negotiate credits where necessary to optimize client satisfaction and profitability.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage the financial goals of the practice, including revenue targets, profitability, and cost management.
  • Assist in decision-making regarding the selection and use of applications and tools to support practice operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
