About The Position

As a Battery Sorter, you will identify and sort batteries based on their chemistry or type, tape battery terminals, and pack batteries using bags and boxes. The role follows warehouse safety procedures and processes and complies with environmental, health, and safety regulations. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., working four 10-hour days, with optional overtime and three-day weekends. The position offers opportunities for pay increases through cross-training, an attendance bonus, and a $1-per-hour second-shift differential.

Requirements

Frequently lift 10–40 pounds individually and more than 40 pounds with a team member.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Attention to detail.
Basic math skills.
Teamwork and communication skills.
High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Follow warehouse safety procedures and processes, prioritizing health and safety.
Identify and sort batteries by chemistry.
Tape the terminals or ends of batteries.
Sort out debris and non-conforming material.
Store batteries and non-conforming material in drums.
Label drums according to regulations and guidelines.
Weigh and document material.
Perform general cleaning.
Comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Sit or stand for most of the shift.
Operate a forklift to transfer material at locations where required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
