About The Position

Ford’s Ion Park organization is seeking a skilled, motivated individual to join our team as a Battery Technologist. You will work actively in a laboratory/pilot line setting on a diverse, multi-functional team producing development-level battery cells to progress our Battery technology that will be deployed in our next generation electrified vehicles. This will be a very hands-on opportunity with most time spent out at the Pilot Line working with the manufacturing equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or higher education
  • Must be available to work 100% onsite.
  • Hands-on experience in Production or Prototype manufacturing environment
  • Motivated self-starter and creative problem solver
  • Ability to effectively collaborate & communicate
  • Ability to efficiently utilize Microsoft Office tools

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Lithium Ion Battery or Electric Vehicle development

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively in a prototype lab with scientists and engineers to make battery cells from raw materials.
  • Operate state-of-the-art production-level battery cell manufacturing equipment through all stages of cell manufacturing – Hands-On
  • Ensure inventory in-place to conduct development builds
  • Conduct quality inspections on parts you’ve just produced
  • Collaborate with the quality team to ensure full suite of quality checks are conducted and learnings are fed back to cell build team.
  • Drive continuous improvement of operations and process
  • Support establishment of procedures and documentation of lessons learned
