About The Position

As an Intern on the Energy Storage Systems Team, you will contribute to product development for battery energy storage systems and technology intended for data center, utility, and defense applications. You will support engineering and product management work involving new battery technologies, analyze data, assess technical fit, and engage with testing and research teams. The internship concludes with a report and presentation to upper management.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in a physical science or engineering field, such as materials engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, physics/applied physics, or electrical engineering.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering teams developing battery technology for utility, data center, and defense applications.
• Analyze data and prepare reports.
• Learn about new battery chemistries and assess their technical fit with target applications and technical specifications.
• Support product management by analyzing product/market fit for new battery technologies and deliverables through the stage-gate process.
• Interface with the advanced research center regarding testing results.
• Attend conferences and site visits as needed.
• Complete the internship with a report and presentation to upper management.
