About The Position

The Business Development Manager Battery Segment is responsible for managing the strategy and offers for the battery segments within the Continental US. This position will lead cross-functional ALTEC (engineering), R&D, IM WBL (global business leads), marketing and sales teams to drive Airgas growth in the developing US battery market. The Business Development Manager Battery Segment is responsible for managing the strategy and offers for the battery segments within the Continental US. This position will lead cross-functional ALTEC (engineering), R&D, IM WBL (global business leads), marketing and sales teams to drive Airgas growth in the developing US battery market. Success will require strategic client and third party relationship development and technical and market insight.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within the battery industry
  • Previous experience in business development - specifically within the industrial gas industry
  • Ability to travel throughout the US
  • Strong communication & presentations skills, comfort presenting to senior level executives, customers, and broadly across Airgas organization

Responsibilities

  • Outline battery market opportunities
  • Select and gain acceptance of Subject Matter Experts (SME) – both Airgas and external
  • Utilize WBL and other AL resources
  • Active participation in NAATBatt association, including participation on key working committees.
  • On-site teams and Region sales teams, lead conversations with customer teams including senior leadership, technical leads, operations, and procurement to validate customer value.
  • With R&D, WBL, Battery Commercial Lead, and ALTEC develop Airgas technical roadmap and competencies
  • Develop relevant industry insights for Airgas
  • With support from Marketing estimate Airgas opportunity across the battery ecosystem
