About The Position

A Batch Tender produces product media by following batch instructions and formulas. The role prepares and stages batches, checks that processes and batch sheets comply with requirements, documents batch work for quality purposes, and maintains a clean and safe work area. The Batch Tender works with colleagues across production and coordinates courteously and professionally with shipping/receiving, quality control, and maintenance. The position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Requirements

• A demonstrated understanding of basic math.
• Ability to obtain a powered industrial truck permit and safely operate a powered industrial truck.
• Ability to read and follow formulas and instructions.
• Physical capability to wear and safely use a respirator during certain essential functions.
• Ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Regular ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Three or more months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and stage all batches.
• Follow instructions and formulas; confirm batch compliance with quality control or the shift lead to ensure batch sheets are correct and proper processes are being used.
• Thoroughly document batch processes and complete related paperwork for quality purposes.
• Meet required performance objectives.
• Maintain work-area cleanliness, including trash, floors, machine cleanliness, and 5S activities.
• Provide back-up assistance to other company areas as required.
• Comply with safety, health, regulatory, and PPE laws and policies.
• Work with other batch tenders, packagers, pot cleaners, and material handlers; interact courteously and professionally with shipping/receiving, quality control, and maintenance.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
