About The Position

The Batch Technician (Wax) is accountable for reviewing work orders and measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients such as wax, pigment and fragrances in order to supply the production lines with raw materials. This role operates in a production environment; employees are exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, variable temperatures and fragrances.

Requirements

  • Diploma, High School
  • Basic Math’s Skills
  • Experience working in manufacturing or Batching
  • Ability to manage critical details
  • Ability to interpret formulas
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to convert from kg’s to lbs.
  • Ability to learn, follow direction, including health and safety protocols
  • Accuracy – ability to perform movements and skills with precision
  • Efficiency – ability to multitask and work without wasting resources
  • Ability to lift up to 20 kg’s

Responsibilities

  • Report data associated with operating equipment to the Supervisor, Batching
  • Provide production, progress or changeover information to shift supervisor verbally
  • Obtain batching sheets and follow the instructions
  • Weigh, measure and verify accuracy of ingredients to be added to wax
  • Mix pigments, additives and fragrances in the wax tank in accordance with the work order
  • Clean all tools, pails, tanks, purge lines, and production area to ensure no reside for changeover of lines
  • Melt and brick scrap wax for future use
  • Determine inefficiencies and implement effective processes to increase overall line efficiency
  • Monitor pipeline and wax temperature using tools such as gauges
  • Adjust steam temperature to maintain the wax temperature
  • Follow health and safety regulations, policies and procedures
  • Review Safety Data Sheets for chemical handling and use of PPE
