Basketball Summer Camp Counselor
About The Position
Beginner's Edge Sports Training (B.E.S.T.) is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and energetic individuals to serve as Basketball Summer Camp Counselors. The role involves creating an unforgettable summer experience for campers by leading fun, age-appropriate basketball drills, games, and activities. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, safe, and inclusive environment, encouraging confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development. Responsibilities include supervising campers, setting up and organizing equipment, and communicating professionally with campers, parents, and fellow counselors. This is a seasonal position with potential for additional assignments.
Requirements
- Able to commit to the entire week.
- At least 18 years old.
- Have reliable transportation.
- Ability to remain physically active throughout the day.
- Able to lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
- Must possess a valid U.S. passport or a REAL ID to access Luke Air Force Base.
- Successfully pass a background check.
Responsibilities
- Lead fun, age-appropriate basketball drills, games, and activities.
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for every camper.
- Encourage confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development.
- Supervise campers while maintaining a safe and organized camp environment.
- Set up and organize equipment before camp and assist with daily cleanup.
- Communicate professionally with campers, parents, and fellow Counselors.
