Basketball Referees are responsible for calling scheduled basketball games and programs sponsored or coordinated by the Parks and Recreation Department.

Requirements

Participate in basketball and sports officiating
The ability to officiate youth basketball (Games are played in the evenings after 5 PM)
Minimum age 16 years old and older

Experience in basketball and sports officiating

Responsibilities

Calling scheduled basketball games and programs sponsored or coordinated by the Parks and Recreation Department
Tactfully discuss questionable calls when it is convenient to consult with the other referees if applicable
Attend training as directed by Sports Official Supervisor
Utilize resources (rule books, clinics) and problem-solving skills
