About The Position

BASE Instructors are responsible for following the lesson plans provided by the Site Leader, direct and oversee activities, and help assist with any participants needs. This role involves planning, implementing, and leading a variety of age-appropriate recreational and enrichment activities for children, ensuring their safety and well-being. The instructor will supervise children during all activities, adhere to staff-to-student ratios, and enforce Park District and school district rules. Effective communication with adults and children is essential, as is a basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs. All activities must be directed in a positive and professional manner, and staff must attend required meetings and complete necessary trainings. The ability to react quickly, calmly, and professionally during emergencies or accidents is crucial, as is the ability to work well with others, be flexible, adaptable, punctual, and dependable. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to react quickly, calmly and professionally during emergency situations or when accidents arise.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to new situations.
  • Must be punctual and dependable.

Responsibilities

  • Help plan, implement, and lead a variety of age-appropriate recreational and enrichment activities for children.
