Requirements

  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Ability to read/comprehend, write, communicate orally, and reason and analyze information.
  • Must be willing to move to different departments and adapt to their processes.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must properly manage multiple tasks of varying priority.
  • Effectively communicate through email and in meetings with different company departments and personnel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Less than high school education or up to one month related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to physically perform duties (details on Physical Requirements document).

Nice To Haves

  • Soldering and hand tool experience is desirable.
  • Experience with use of tools used in sheet metal manufacturing is desired but not necessary and will require training to a beginner level within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products made out of sheet metal/insulation with supervision per process details specified by customers.
  • Use simple hand tools as well as more complex equipment such as CNC press brakes and spot welders.
  • Comply with all safety recommendations and requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
  • Partner and assist in the implementation of continuous improvement, quality, and overall process and product development.
  • Identify at least two opportunities for continuous process and quality improvement per year and work with the area lead to accomplish these ideas.
  • Follow procedures to ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Obtain beginner level in part identification and application (how it’s used).
  • Treat all team members, customers, and internal/external suppliers with dignity and respect.
  • Assist in the implementation of new products, processes, standardized procedures, work instructions, and training.
  • Obtain minimum productivity measurements as defined by your team lead.
  • Immediately communicate problems encountered as they pertain to Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery standards.
  • Work independently and as part of an evolving team.
  • Lead yourself to meet your goals and those of the company.
  • Lead in the development of your own career with the assistance of the Skills Matrix and Standard Works.
  • Key role in process and standard work development.
