About The Position

Panelmatic Inc. seeks an experienced and proactive Fabrication Supervisor to oversee daily fitting / welding operations in the base fabrication department. This role ensures efficient production, adherence to quality standards, and the development of team members. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in metal fabrication and a proven track record of leadership in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Three plus years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial fabrication setting for welded structural assemblies required
  • Advanced knowledge of fabrication processes, tools, and machinery required
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance procedures (QAPs) required
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills required
  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and schematics required
  • High levels of organizational and time management skills required
  • High levels of analytical, observational, and active listening skills required
  • High levels of reliability required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
  • Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background checks required
  • Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 50lbs or more required
  • Ability to stoop and bend required
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for four plus hours at a time required
  • Ability to read a tape measure and prints required
  • Ability to convert decimals to fractions and utilize conversion charts required
  • Excellent manual dexterity required
  • Excellent color vision and eyesight required

Responsibilities

  • Manage, train, and mentor a team of fitter / welder fabricators, ensuring compliance with safety standards and production goals.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Assign tasks based on skill sets and project requirements, balancing workload among team members.
  • Coordinate with project managers and other departments to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust staffing or resources to prevent delays.
  • Oversee the setup and operation of fabricating machines
  • Ensure all products meet dimensional and quality requirements as per blueprints and schematics.
  • Review and approve final inspections before delivery.
  • Identify and resolve fabrication issues, minimizing downtime and waste.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, equipment maintenance, and team performance.
  • Report key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity and material usage.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
