About The Position

The Base Area Team Lead serves as a working leader who supports the daily operation of the department by coordinating work assignments, providing guidance to team members, and ensuring daily responsibilities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Camelback Resort standards. This position leads by example while maintaining a positive guest and team member experience.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and motivate team members in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible work schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Strong listening, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Must be able to speak and read English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light objects.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to outdoor weather conditions and busy or noisy work areas.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and remain calm under pressure.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of our guests and fellow team members.
  • Ability to work in a fun, fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous guest service or operational experience preferred; leadership experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, prioritize, and adjust daily work assignments to ensure operational needs are met efficiently and according to department standards.
  • Monitor team performance and work quality throughout the shift, providing real-time coaching, guidance, and resolving routine operational issues.
  • Lead by example by demonstrating professionalism, safety, and exceptional guest service.
  • Perform operational duties alongside team members and step into any role as needed to support workflow.
  • Communicate daily priorities, operational updates, and changes to team members.
  • Identify operational needs and communicate resource, staffing, or operational concerns to the Base Area Experience Supervisor.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new team members.
  • Foster teamwork and maintain a positive, respectful work environment.
  • Report recurring performance concerns, safety issues, or operational challenges to management.
  • Serve as the department's primary point of contact in the absence of the Base Area Experience Supervisor.
  • Make day-to-day operational decisions within established department procedures to support efficient operations.
