A well-established mechanical and automation contractor in the Greater Los Angeles area is seeking a BAS Project Engineer to support its expanding operations. This position is ideal for candidates with hands-on Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience—especially those who have worked beyond basic VAV commissioning. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys contributing to project execution, and is eager to support cutting-edge automation and controls work across a wide range of vertical markets. Established over 35 years ago with a team of 40+ employees. Known for delivering sustainable, technology-forward mechanical and controls solutions. Industries Served: Education, Healthcare, Hospitality, Justice, Transit, Manufacturing, Utilities, Labs, and more. Product Lines: Honeywell, Schneider, Tridium, Delta, Argus. Services Include: Design-Build, Commissioning, Energy & Environmental Planning, BIM Coordination, Estimating, Retrofit, and Service.

Requirements

• Experience as a BAS Project Engineer or similar controls engineering position
• Comfortable working with drawings, field teams, and control documentation
• Union experience with Local 105 or willingness to join
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Hands-on Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience beyond basic VAV commissioning
• Familiarity with Honeywell or Schneider Controls

Responsibilities

• Track and oversee project milestones, tasks, and deliverables
• Support the Project Management team with daily coordination and scheduling
• Prepare and process RFIs and Change Orders
• Interpret and review contract drawings, plans, and project documentation
• Maintain submittal documentation and ensure updates are accurately recorded
• Communicate regularly with clients and project teams throughout the lifecycle
• Assist with installation planning and the technical execution of BAS projects
