About The Position

The BAS Manager is responsible for advanced engineering, optimization, and lifecycle management of BAS systems across the Rahway campus. This role leads a team that performs complex troubleshooting, system design, and capital project execution, while driving standardization, digital integration, and long-term BAS strategy. The manager acts as a subject matter expert and provides technical leadership across BAS platforms and infrastructure.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum 8+ years of experience with building automation or industrial automation systems.
  • Strong experience with HVAC systems, environmental controls, and utility infrastructure.
  • Significant experience with Schneider Electric EBO.
  • Experience with BAS upgrades, integrations, and capital projects.
  • Strong knowledge of control systems architecture, field devices, and system networking.
  • Experience with system integration technologies (e.g., OPC, BACnet, Modbus).
  • Experience with data historians and analytics platforms (e.g., PI or similar).
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex automation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead administration, maintenance, and lifecycle management of BAS systems.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of integrated systems, including network, server, and field-level issues.
  • Develop and maintain system standards, architecture, documentation, and databases.
  • Support BAS scope for capital projects including design, specifications, installation, and commissioning.
  • Support system upgrades, migrations, and expansions (hardware and software).
  • Drive integration with enterprise systems (e.g., historians, analytics platforms, OT/IT interfaces).
  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop advanced trending, analytics, and reporting strategies to improve system performance.
  • Drive energy optimization and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Standardize naming conventions, control strategies, and system configurations.
  • Serve as a BAS subject matter expert to Utilities, Facilities, IT, and Engineering teams.
  • Mentor junior specialist and provide technical guidance.
  • Support compliance, audits, and documentation requirements.
