About The Position

As a BAS Engineer at JLL, you'll be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and optimizing intelligent building systems that create smarter, more sustainable environments for our clients. This role combines technical expertise with strategic thinking as you program, commission, and maintain building automation systems across diverse commercial real estate portfolios. You'll work collaboratively with facilities teams, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless integration of HVAC, lighting, and energy management systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience with BAS platform maintenance and optimization
  • Proven track record maintaining complex building automation systems in post-installation phase
  • Proficiency with Desigo diagnostic tools, BACnet communications, and network troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, control theory, and building operations
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills for technical training
  • Availability for 24/7 emergency response when needed
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Siemens Desigo certification and advanced platform training.
  • Experience with large-scale BAS installations and warranty management processes.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity protocols and system security maintenance.
  • Familiarity with energy management systems and sustainability reporting.
  • Maintenance management or reliability engineering certification.
  • Commercial real estate or corporate facilities management background.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as custodian of Siemens Desigo building automation system, conducting comprehensive preventive maintenance, monitoring performance, and quickly resolving issues to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability.
  • Fine-tune control sequences and system parameters to optimize energy efficiency and occupant comfort by analyzing performance data and implementing improvements that exceed design specifications.
  • Act as technical expert for complex troubleshooting, vendor coordination, warranty management, and development of system documentation and maintenance protocols.
  • Conduct daily system checks using Siemens Desigo diagnostic tools and analyze trending data to proactively identify and prevent potential operational issues.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and coordinate with vendors for warranty-covered repairs while managing relationships with Siemens representatives.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for facility operators to build team knowledge and capabilities around the new system.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures, system documentation, and technical guides specific to the installation.
  • Monitor performance metrics against established benchmarks and identify opportunities for system enhancements and operational improvements.
  • Implement software updates while maintaining security protocols and ensuring system integrity throughout the upgrade process.
  • Maintain comprehensive performance documentation and reporting to track system health, demonstrate ROI, and inform continuous improvement initiatives.
