About The Position

Our employer partner, a company operating in building systems, automation, and technical services, is currently looking to add a BAS Technician to their team! Our employer partner is seeking a BAS Technician to support the programming, commissioning, and system verification of electronic end devices and third-party integration devices connected to building automation systems. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role requires strong working knowledge of HVAC components, software, electronic technology, and networking. The role also involves flexible working hours based on project requirements and collaboration with external parties, including consultants and commissioning agents, for in-depth system verification, including LEED-related work.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience
  • Knowledge of automation systems, HVAC, electrical concepts, and building operations
  • Skilled in programming, commissioning, and graphic design
  • Advanced knowledge of DDC/mechanical service troubleshooting
  • Thorough understanding of control theory and control concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, and strong general PC skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written

  • CET designation is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, commission, and troubleshoot low-voltage power, BAS, HVAC, network communications, and field devices such as sensors, actuators, valves, relays, and peripherals
  • Perform end-to-end BAS commissioning, including functional testing, sequence simulation, anomaly reporting, and third-party system integration
  • Program HVAC control systems and verify performance against design intent and control strategies
  • Verify installation, operation, calibration, and conformance of electrical and electronic equipment to manufacturer specifications
  • Validate network connectivity, data communication, and system interoperability using software tools
  • Collect and analyze operational data and prepare commissioning documentation, checklists, and reports for project closeout
  • Adhere to safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, fall protection, ladder work, and the use of elevating work platforms
  • Travel regularly to job sites and perform on-site work in varying conditions and schedules
